First Southern Baptist Church is offering a 5-day meal program for children living in Bledsoe County from pre-K to fifth grade for the month of July to be picked up on Mondays – July 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 – from noon until 5:00 p.m. If your child received snack packs during the school year, or you are interested in your child to receive a meal pack, the church will be passing these meals out at the church’s Family Ministry Center on the aforementioned days and times. Children must be living in the home in which you are picking them up for. Please contact the church office at 447-2849 for more information.

    The Fall Creek Falls Community Action Group is hosting a Meet Your Candidate event on July 13 at 5:00 p.m. at the Fall Creek Falls Community Center. This is a meet and greet for candidates running for office in Bledsoe and Van Buren Counties. Each candidate has three minutes to introduce themselves and address the crowd.

    Fall Creek Falls Community Action Group is serving a pulled pork sandwich meal beginning at 4:30 p.m. The meal includes a smoked pulled pork sandwich, baked beans, slaw, chips, a snack cake and drink for a $6 donation to the Center. All proceeds benefit the center to pay utility bills and upkeep expenses of the center. Candidates who wish to participate should call Michael or Andrea Blankenship at 423-881-5154.
