Bledsoe County Public Library’s summer program kicks off Thursday, June 8 at 2:00 p.m. with Joyce Carroll and friends at the library. Sign-up starts a week earlier, so drop by the library to pick up a book bag, some of our new books and get started. “Just for fun summer reading matter,” said Director Carolyne Knight, “keep your child’s brain sharp and active by having a reading activity for at least 20 minutes a day. Everyone is welcome and we look forward to seeing you this summer.”

The Sequatchie Valley Chapter of Daughters of The American Revolution invite the public to a Flag Retirement Ceremony being held at the Bledsoe County Veterans Park on Main Street in Pikeville. It is being held on Flag Day, June 14, at 1:00 p.m., and lasting about 20 minutes. Please bring a lawn chair for comfort, and your old flags so they can be retired in a respectful manner.
