Law changes start July 1

Over 100 new laws passed by the Tennessee General Assembly go into effect Saturday, July 1. Here are some of the new laws you may find of interest and may impact you, followed by their bill number for your reference. For more, see the June 29, 2017 issue of The Bledsonian-Banner.

Tax cuts – tax hikes coming July 1

    Easter services at Cold Spring First Baptist

    All day

    Cold Spring First Baptist Church is participating in the Sunday, April 16 county-wide Sunrise Service at the Farmers Market in downtown Pikeville at 6:00 a.m. The church’s other services that day include Sunday School at the church, four miles north of Pikeville on US 127 at 10:00 a.m. The morning worship service is at 11:00 a.m. with special singing and a resurrection message brought by Pastor Stephen Conn. Following the morning service, an Easter egg hunt on the church grounds for children 12 and under is being held. No service is planned for Sunday evening, so families can have more time to spend together on this Holy holiday. B15

    Livestock Association to meet

    Livestock Association to meet Thursday, April 20

    The Bledsoe County Livestock Association is meeting on Thursday, April 20, at Bledsoe County Middle School at 6:00 p.m. The Association’s April meeting is sponsored by Performance Feeds. Guest speaker is Dr. Allen Stateler, beef nutritionist. A meal is being provided. Anyone interested is welcome to attend.  Please call 423-447-2451 if you plan to come so enough food can be prepared.     Nickel Row Music Hall, 3129 Main Street, Pikeville, announces its April events. On Friday, April 21, at 5:00 p.m., a Rook Tournament is planned with prizes awarded the top three teams. Concessions are available. There is a $20 entry fee per team.     The Wheeler-Long Camp Sons of Confederate Veterans will meet April 21, at 6:00 p.m. at the Sequachee Valley Electric Cooperative building just north of Dunlap on US Highway 127. New member applicants and OCR are welcome. BT16
