Property tax rate increases for Pikeville city residents

Property owners within the city limits of Pikeville will be paying an additional 15ยข per $100 of assessed value on their property taxes to meet the demands of the 2018-19 budget that was approved Monday, August 13.     On February 3, the Pikeville Bass Club is meeting at 6:00 p.m. at Sequachee Valley Electric Cooperative in Pikeville. Anyone interested in signing up and fishing the 2017 season can do so at the meeting. The membership fee is $25 and entry fee is $40 per boat.     A benefit is being held for Tony and Iva Dotson, who lost everything in a house fire in December. The event is February 4 at the Dill Community Center with live music and food starting at 4:00 p.m. Barbecue plates, hot dogs and chili are available.     Clothes closet at Winesap Free Will Baptist

    On Saturday, February 4 Winesap Free Will Baptist Church will open its clothes closet from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. The clothes closet will be open every first and third Saturday of each month until further notice. Anyone needing clothes or who knows someone who does can come by at this time. The church will have nice clothes for work, play and dress of all sizes at no charge. The church is located on Lantana Road (Hwy. 101) at the Bledsoe-Cumberland county line.
