Roger Eston Bedwell

Roger Eston Bedwell, 73, of Pikeville, Tennessee died Monday, March 18, 2024 with his family by his side.

Roger loved spending time with his family and friends, enjoyed playing cards, was always having a good time and making people laugh. He never met a stranger and will be missed by all who knew him.

Roger retired from La-Z-Boy after 32 years, attended Cumberland Fellowship at Pikeville, and was a lifetime member of the Bledsoe County Rescue Squad.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Emma Novella Worthington Bedwell; brothers, Jimmy and Samuel “Bo” Bedwell; sisters, Wilma Smith, Carolyn Walling, and Mary Hancock; son-in-law, Duane Pilgrim.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of eight years, Judy Oakes Swafford; daughters, Nona Pilgrim, Donna (Charles “Dude”) Campbell, Kayla (Garrett) Davis; son, Martin (Carla) Deweese; grandchildren, Will (Amber) Angel, Matthew (Tiffany) Wheeler, Michayla (Bradley) Hankins, Paden (Tiffany) Pilgrim, Andrea (Joe) Cordell, Harlee Deweese, and Jason Myers, and a special little one on the way; several special great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Brewer, Susie Davidson, Dorothy (Dwain) Angel; mother-in-law, Ruth Essex; nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

A celebration of Roger’s life was held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 21, in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Ronny Colvard and Scotty Smith officiating. Burial was in Humble Cemetery.
