Estamae Daggett

Estamae Daggett (nee Steakley), 98, of Carlisle Township, Ohio, passed away after a brief illness Sunday, February 25, 2024.

Estamae was born on July 9, 1925, to George and Sally (nee Howard) Steakley in Pikeville, Tennessee. Estamae was raised in the Old Cumberland Baptist Church in Pikeville. She loved the Lord and read the Bible daily. Gardening, bird watching and being in nature brought her much joy, but most of all, Estamae treasured spending time with her family.

Surviving members of Estamae’s family include her children Willene Pridemore of Pikeville, and Dennis Daggett (Julie) of Elyria, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Daggett; infant son Ricky Daggett; son Jerry Daggett; parents George and Sally Steakley; and brother T.J. Steakley.

Everyone who knew Estamae knew she was the rock of the family. She had a heart of gold.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 28, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Busch Funeral Home 114 Second St., Elyria, Ohio as well as Saturday, March 2, 2024, from noon to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, March 3, 2024, from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Putnam-Reed Funeral, 1171 Main Street, Pikeville. Interment to follow at Cagle Cemetery, Pikeville.
