Nova Ellen Bickford Roberson

Nova Ellen Bickford Roberson, 97, of Pikeville, Tennessee passed away peacefully Saturday, September 23, 2023 at home with her loving family by her side.

Nova was a member of Pikeville Church of Christ. She worked in dry cleaning on the Navy Base, and was the secretary for many years at Farm Bureau. Nova helped with the 4-H Club, Home Demonstration Club, and Young Farmers and Homemakers.

She loved her family, was a loving caregiver to many family members and others. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing and cooking, and was known for her dinner rolls and wonderful baked goods.

Nova was preceded in death by her loving husband of 73 years, Peter C. Roberson; parents, Franklin Leonard and Margaret Josephine Myers Bickford; son, Mike Roberson; daughter-in-law, Debbie Roberson; sons-in-law, Joseph C. Ford, Joe Kington, III, Mark Sherman;  brothers, James Ernest Bickford, Henry Franklin Bickford; sister, Ova Lee Amburgey.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Carroll (Kendra) Roberson, Chris Roberson, Pat (Carolyn) Roberson; daughters, Mary Ellen Ford, Sharon Kington, Lisa Sherman, Janet (Chris) White; special niece raised as a daughter, Anne Hudson; special niece, Kaye Greer; daughter-in-law, Imogene Roberson; 20 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

A celebration of life was held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 28, in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Tony Britt officiating. Burial was in Walling Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude or Tennessee Children’s Home.
