Richard “Rick” Wooden

Richard “Rick” Wooden, 70, of Pikeville, Tennessee, died Tuesday, September 19, 2023, in the comfort of his home.

He was a true genuine mountain man. He was kind, loving and one of a kind. He was a great storyteller and entertained everyone. He was a life long farmer. He was a master wood worker. His strength was inspiring.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arvil and Zola Wooden; brothers, Terry and Roger Wooden; two sisters; nephew, Luke Lee; and several other nieces and nephews.

He is survived by the love of his life, Susan Adkisson of Pikeville; daughter, Tonya (Stacy) Turner of Pikeville; several bonus children and grandchildren; siblings, Bernice (Frank) Anderson of Kentucky, Margaret (Dwight) Lewis of Dunlap, Kathy (Monte) Lee of Pikeville, Joyce (Carson) Camp of Dunlap, Teresa (Jay) Minnick of Greenville; sisters-in-law, Janice and Shirlene Wooden; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Friday, September 22, at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
