Johnnie Harwood Hitchcox

Johnnie Harwood Hitchcox passed away peacefully on Monday, September 4, 2023 in the care of NHC Dunlap, Tennessee at the age of 93. Johnnie was born on February 11, 1930. She was a member of Bethel Church of Christ.

Johnnie was preceded in passing by her son, Clayton Eugene (Big Boy) Harwood; her husbands, Harold (Scooter) Gant and Olen Hitchcox; her parents Lester and Myrtle Bickford; her siblings, Bill Harwood and Thomas Bickford.

Survived by her grandchildren, Shannon and Shane (Kate) Harwood; her great-grandchildren, Caleb Harwood, Jossalin Caldwell, and Will, Nick, and Abney Harwood; siblings Frances Davis and Lila Brady; her special niece Carol Rains; family friend Dave Turner; and many extended family members.

A celebration of life was held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 9, in the funeral home chapel with Bro. T. A. Smith officiating. Burial was in Walling Cemetery.
