Roy Joe Angel

Roy Joe Angel, 76, of Pikeville, Tennessee passed away, Wednesday, July 26, 2023.

Roy Joe was a 1965 graduate of Bledsoe County High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree at Tennessee Tech University.

He was a kind and generous man who was well liked and respected by everyone he came in contact with. Roy Joe was owner and operator of Angel Construction Company for over 50 years. Prior to that, he was a teacher, principal, coach, and bus driver for Cecil B. Rigsby and Dill Schools.

Preceding Roy Joe in death were his parents, James Cecil, Sr. and Angie Leigh Blackburn Angel; brother, James Cecil Angel, Jr.; nephew, James Cecil Angel, III.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 32 years, Patsy Ann Moore Angel; son, Bobby Joe (Angela) Angel;, brothers, William Frank (Teresa) Angel, Carl L. Angel, Harold (Terry) Angel, FL; grandchildren, Garrett (Corinne) Angel, Rhianna Barrow, Harley Heald, Apison, Aylee Angel, Dwayne (Kim) Oliver, Chattanooga; great grandchildren, Aubrey and Cooper Angel, Reagan, Bella, Luke, and Liam Oliver; nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

A celebration of life was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 30, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Donnie Bell. Burial was in Cecil Angel Family Cemetery. Those serving as pallbearers are Bo Emory, Brian Holland, Arnold Boynton, Matthew Boynton, Jeffrey Parker, and Ralph Angel.
