Dion Greer Swafford, 77, of Pikeville, Tennessee, died Monday, June 26, 2023.
He attended Swafford’s Chapel and Cold Springs Baptist Church. He retired from Bledsoe County Regional Correctional Facility and as a former supervisor at Vendell Manufacturing in Crossville. He was an avid turkey and dove hunter, loved watching westerns, and talking with people.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Mary Swafford; sisters, Dorothy Holloway, Virginia Swafford and Shelby Carroll; brothers, Hollis Swafford, Henry Swafford, Bratch Swafford and John Swafford.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Linda K. Swafford of Pikeville; children, Casoundra (James D.) Simmons of Pikeville, Donover (Carrie) Swafford of Spencer, and Ethan Swafford of Montana; step-children, Stephanie (Henry) Jacobs, Steven (Angie) Sears, Scott (Tammie) Sears and Frank Sears; grandchildren, Skyler, Hayden, Alicia, Sidney, Elexus, April and Brittney; two great-grandchildren; brother, Max (Mary) Swafford of Pikeville; sister, Theresa Hodge of Spencer; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 30, at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Dwayne Hodges and Bro. Ferlin Wynette officiating. Burial will be in Worthington Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 29, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and Friday, June 30, from 9:00-10:00 a.m.
