Wilma Frances Edmons Woods, 91, of Knoxville, Tennessee died after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s on May 24, 2023.
A native of Pikeville, she was an avid seamstress who retired from Levi Strauss & Co. and loved to sew for her family and friends. She was a member of the Woodlawn Christian Church and was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years Richard “Dick” Woods; her parents, Amon and Florence Edmons; sisters Dorothy Brown and Martha Weeks, and brother Marvin Edmons.
Wilma will be greatly missed by her children, Richard “Rick” (Janice Kidd) Woods and Cheryl (Mike) Hill; her brother Henry (Betty) Edmons; grandchildren Jonathan Woods, David (Melissa) Woods: and great-grandchildren Abigail and Juliana.
A memorial service will be held for Wilma at 11am on Saturday, June 3, , at Berry Highland South, 9010 E. Simpson Road, Knoxville, TN 37920. Condolences may be offered following the service. Memorial donations may be made to the Woodlawn Christian Church Nehemiah Fund, 4339 Woodlawn Pike, Knoxville, TN 37920, or The Woods-Kidd Scholarship Fund at Johnson University, 7900 Johnson Drive, Knoxville, TN 37998.
