James Melton “Jimmy” Newby, Jr., 70 of Pikeville, Tennessee died Saturday, June 3, 2023 at home with his loved ones by his side.
He was a member of West End Church of God, a life-long truck driver, known as Iron Horse. He loved his Lord, wife, children, and grandchildren very much.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, James M. Newby, Sr.; mother, Maxine Elliott Newby; sister, Patricia Newby Fifer; brother, Steve Hawkins; grandparents, Edd Newby and Jeanie Clifton Newby, George and Maude Green Elliott.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Denia Carol Henry Newby; daughter, Jennifer Newby; sons, Scott (Cindy Keener) Newby and Adam Newby (Heather Croutch); grandchildren, Olivia and Layla Newby, Lacie Ramsey, Jaylyn West, Jessie, Camron, Keaten, and Jameson Newby, Braden Bowers, Ramsey West, Bailey, Tyler and Logan Kilgore, Blake Ramsey; stepchildren, Tracie (Billy) Kilgore, Kristy (Mike) West, Ronnie Ramsey; uncle, Dennis (Margaret) Elliott; cousin, Bobby (Joyce) Newby; several nieces; nephews and a host of friends.
A celebration of life will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, at West End Church of God with Bro. Danny Lee and Chester Brock officiating. Burial will follow in Humble Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5:00-9:00 p.m. Monday June 5, and 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 6 all at the West End Church of God.
