School System gets booster for nurses

Bledsoe County’s School System was named in the first round of healthcare grants from the Tennessee Health Department (TDOH). The system is receiving $1.1 million to pay salaries of nursing staff for the school system over the next three years, reports Michelle Rains, Bledsoe County School Health Coordinator.

“It took me a month to write it (the grant),” said Rains.

The grant provides funding for all five schools to have a full time school nurse for the next three years, said Rains.
