James “Carrol” Swafford

James “Carrol” Swafford, 70 of Evensville, Tennessee died on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at Spring City Healthcare in Spring City, Tennessee.

He was born on October 12, 1952 to the late John Coval and Mary Lucille Harris Swafford. Carrol attended Bledsoe County High School. He was a self-employed farmer and carpenter. Carrol loved to hunt, fish, and ride horses. He was of the Baptist faith.

Carrol was also preceded in death by his brothers Ricky and Johnny Swafford, and his sister Connie Swafford.

Survivors include his wife Lena P. Swafford of Evensville, Tennessee; his children Chris (Candace) Swafford and Ernie Shrum both of Spring City, Tennessee, Candy (Michael) Allport of Dayton, Tennessee, and Susie (Kelly) Foutch of Monteagle, Tennessee; his sisters Jewel Smith of Dayton, Tennessee, Sandra (Wayne) Simmons, Kathy (Rick) Dixson, Julia (Willard) Swafford, Tammy (Jeff) Cunningham, and Sheila Stinnett all of Pikeville, Tennessee; his brothers David (Karen) Swafford, Dean (Kathy) Swafford, and Robert (Annette) Swafford all of Pikeville, Tennessee; his nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Friday, April 21, at 4:00 p.m. ET at Community Baptist Church, 2500 Summer City Road, Pikeville, Tennessee, with Rev. Jimmy Jewell and Rev. Rick Dixon officiating.
