Community Joining Hands to help law enforcement

The first in a series of meetings to open communications between the community and local law enforcement was held at the Pikeville Municipal Building on April 11. Assistant Chief David Decker explained the program he and the Pikeville Police Department are introducing known as Community Joining Hands to those in attendance.

The department wants to encourage residents and businesses to share information about incidents and things of concern they may have about the welfare and safety of the community they live and work in. He provided tip sheets, phone numbers of importance, and information on the police department.
