Lukassen’s home wins decorating contest

Stretching an estimated 100 yards, Jimmy Lukassen’s Christmas decorations took the top prize in the 42nd annual Christmas Decorating Contest. He will receive a check for $100 for his unique lights and decorations, announced Publisher Sandy Dodson, with The Bledsonian-Banner.

“For the past 42 years, the Bledsonian has sponsored the contest,” she said, “and over those years, First Farmers and Commercial Bank and Citizens Tri-County Bank have sponsored the prize money for which we are grateful.”

The judges were challenged to pick out the top five homes out of the 12 that entered, said Dodson. There was less than a three-point spread between each winner.
