Joann Scruggs Gibson

Joann Scruggs Gibson, 79, of Spring City, Tennessee died September 17, 2022 at home with her loving family by her side.  

Joann was of the Baptist faith, loved spending time with her family, enjoyed working in her yard, planting and weeding her flowers.  

Preceding Joann in death were her husband, Billy Mitchell Gibson; her parents, Lindsey Kay and Geneva Mann Scruggs; sons, Clifford Wayne Smithers, Rodney Allen Bailey; daughters, Linda Ann Smithers, Staci Lynn Gibson, Traci Lynn Gibson; brothers, Ted, Tommy, and Perry Scruggs; sister, Doris Jean Johnson.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Kimberly Renee Bailey, Brenda Kay (Jerry) Harris of Florida, Debbie Denise Bailey; sons, Gregory Mitchell Gibson of Florida; Terry and Mark Bailey, Tracey (Tammy) Irey; grandchildren, Brandi, Mitchell, and Kyle Bailey, Jothan Gibson, Drew Gibson, Benjamin and Justin Harris, Rodney Bailey, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Dekoda, Austin, Heaven, and Faith Bailey, Jaden Bailey, Cameron Kauffman, Bralyn and Briley Bailey, Kadden, Payten, and Kyleigh Bailey; sister, Nancy Langley; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.  

There was no service per Joann’s request. The family received friends Sunday, September 18 at the funeral home.
