Nyla Rose Hodge
Nyla Rose Hodge, 71, of Pikeville, Tennessee died July 8, 2022.
Nyla was a member at Mt. Della Church of Christ. She owned and operated Nyla’s Place for 16 years, worked in Home Health 10 years, loved her family, children, grandchildren, and anyone she came in contact with. She enjoyed singing, fishing, and pretty flower gardens.
Preceding Nyla in death were her parents, Rathmel Rebron and Ruby Lee Smith Reece; son, Ivan Melvin Smith; sisters, Effie Smith, Elizabeth Narramore, Treva Blaylock; brothers, James Claude, Charles Eugene “Gene,” Leo, and Lavaughn Reece; brothers-in-law, Eugene Smith, Hershel Narramore, Joe Pendergrass, and Paul Holland; sisters-in-law, Hazel and Ina Ruth Reece.
Left behind to cherish her memory is her devoted ex-husband, Roger Hodge; daughters, Christy (Bobby) Hearne, Monica (Ronald) Blankenship; sons, Robbie (Tracey) Hodge, Ritchie Hodge; grandchildren, Clarissa Burgess (Chris Eikel), Natasha (Michael) Kean, Gage Smith, Grace (Bret) Holland, Chase Smith, Jesse (Tara) Blankenship, Steven and Jacob Hodge; great grandchildren, Eden Kean, Rylee Eikel, Lucas Smith, Mason Smith, Sophie Kean, Skylar Holland; sisters, Doris Harwood, Willie Mae Pendergrass, Evelyn (James) Defur; brothers-in-law, Harold Blaylock; special caregiver, Alex Dodson; several nieces, nephews; cousins; and a host of friends.
A celebration of life was held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, in the funeral home chapel with Bro. John McElroy officiating. Burial was in DeBord Cemetery.
