Raymond Noel Pratt

The Lord called Raymond Noel Pratt, to his place in Eternal Heaven on June 18, 2022. He died peacefully at home in Crossville, Tennessee at age 70.

In accordance with Raymond’s wishes, a committal service will be held at a future date in Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Pikeville.

Raymond was born in Pikeville, Tennessee on January 1, 1952 to Robert Desmond and Eleanor Ruth (Hunt) Pratt. He attended Tennessee Tech and went to work with his family at Pratts Farm Store; later working for the Bledsoe County Board of Education until his retirement in 2016.

His need for action won the retirement battle and he continued his building/construction work with friend Tim Tabor until the discovery of glioblastoma multiforme IV (brain cancer) in July 2020. ‘The Great Healer” supported Raymond as he fought for a life with quality and love for an amazing 1 year and 10 months.

On August 21, 1971, Raymond married his loving wife Billie Frances Everett in Pikeville. Together they enjoyed 51 years and 10 months of devoted love.

Raymond was raised in the Methodist faith attending Pikeville United Methodist Church. Our Lord provided an amazing playground for this avid fisherman and hunter. Raymond spent years raising exceptional companion and natural squirrel dogs (Treeing Feist) for the enjoyment of himself, our family and many friends; gaining the name ‘Squirrel Man’ as a young man.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents Raymond Reems and Weltha (Edgmon) Pratt of Pikeville; Paul Jones and Sarah Eleanor (Williams) Hunt of Jackson, Tennessee and sister, Carol Elaine (Pratt) Colvard of Pikeville.

He is survived by his wife Billie Frances and son Robert Noel (Carla) Pratt of Crossville; grandchildren Lilianna Grace Pratt and Austin Noel Pratt; also survived by brother Paul Desmond (Patricia) Pratt of Athens, Tennessee; and many nieces,  nephews and good friends.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Hood Funeral Home and Crematory, Crossville.
