Nina Sue Simmons Crowell

Nina Sue Simmons Crowell, 85 of Pikeville, Tennessee died June 4, 2022 in Orlando, Florida.

She was born October 7, 1936 in Kissimmee, Florida. A resident of Dayton Mountain since 1993, Nina Sue lived most of her life in Kissimmee, Florida. She was a graduate of Florida State University and the University of Central Florida.

She taught for 37 years in Florida and Tennessee, was a former member of First United Methodist Churches in Kissimmee, Florida and Dayton, Tennessee. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, P.E.O., Silver Spurs Riding Club as well as other philanthropic organizations.

She was preceded in death by her husband J. Robert Crowell.

She is survived by son, John (Susan) Crowell; daughters, Janet (Wayne) Cook and Judi Crowell; grandchildren Clay (Melissa) Crowell, Lyndsey (Alex) Bell and John (Kalli) Cook; great-grandchildren Jaxon and Parker Crowell, Morgan Louise Bell, Lyla Belle Cook.

Funeral services for Nina were held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, June 15, at 11:00 a.m. She was laid to rest next to her husband at Chattanooga National Cemetery following the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 933 Market Street, Dayton, TN 37321 for the building fund and learning center.
