Ribbon cutting at Aviagen’s feed mill

On the morning of May 27, global poultry breeding company Aviagen® hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its brand new feed processing facility (feed mill) in Pikeville. Joining in this momentous event were members of the Pikeville-Bledsoe County Chamber of Commerce, City Mayor Philip Cagle, County Mayor Gregg Ridley and Deputy Commissioner Jeff Aiken with the Tennessee Department of Agriculture.

To meet the growing demand, the high-capacity feed mill in Pikeville marks the company’s third feed processing facility in the U.S., and is now home to the country’s most advanced feed mill. With a capacity of 3,000 tons per week (156,000 tons annually), the new facility will supply Aviagen’s internal flocks with nutritious, biosecure feed that is specially formulated for their unique dietary needs.
