Bus assistants to be added

How to obtain and retain bus drivers has been an ongoing concern of the Bledsoe County Board of Education, and just recently Director of Schools Selina Sparkman spoke with the system’s bus drivers to find out what they want. That discussion has led the Board to approve hiring of bus assistants in the future.

“Overwhelmingly, they (bus drivers) said ‘we would like to have an assistant on the bus’,” Sparkman told the Board at its meeting Monday, February 7.
