Former candidate indicted for sexual battery against minor
A former Republican primary candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives and Pikeville resident Randy Sharp was indicted for sexual battery against a minor by the Bledsoe County Grand Jury on Monday, November 22.
Sharp, 57, was indicted for aggravated sexual battery against a child under the age of 13. According to court records, the offending activity occurred between May 1, 2019 and November 30, 2019.
Sharp ran unsuccessfully in the Republican primary against U.S. Representative Scott DesJarlais in August 2020, after the offending activities allegedly occurred.
He bonded out in the amount of $50,000 and his next court date is December 13.
