Vaccine mandates major concern locally

Bledsoe County and Pikeville officials met with U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn [R] via zoom on Monday, November 22, to give a progress update on the happenings of Pikeville and Bledsoe County and express concerns about vaccine mandates for nursing home staff and other county employees.

Bledsoe County Mayor Gregg Ridley sent a letter to Sen. Blackburn’s office earlier this month regarding the federal vaccine mandate which could leave the Bledsoe County Nursing Home, Bledsoe County Emergency Services and the Sequatchie Valley Head Start program severely understaffed and unable to provide services.

It is utter stupidity for anyone in the health care field not to be fully vaccinated to protect themselves and their loved ones from contracting a serious and sometimes deadly illness when they are the ones who are most likely to be exposed to it.
