Homer Heard
Homer Heard, 91 of Pikeville, Tennessee died Saturday, November 13, 2021.
Homer farmed all his life and was a truck driver for the Farmers Co-op and the Milk Truck. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and especially taking the kids with him to hunt and fish. He always enjoyed being with his family.
Preceding Homer in death were his parents, George Washington and Willie Fannie Hatfield Heard; son, Olen “Odie” Heard; brothers, J. T., Olen, Junior, and Harold Heard; sister, Mildred Smith.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Tressie M. Farley Heard, with whom he had a good life with; Tommy Joe (Donna) Heard; brother, Clayton (Lola) Heard of Spring City; sister, Dorothy Worthington; sisters-in-law, Lola Heard and Gladys Heard; very special grandson, Matt (Lea) Heard; very special great-granddaughter, Mila Heard; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
A celebration of life was held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 16, in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Leroy Forgey and Ronny Colvard officiating. Those serving as pallbearers are Billy, Steve, and Matt Heard, Tobe, James Ray, and Danny Smith. Burial was in Pikeville City Cemetery.
