Mary Joe Harp

Mary Joe Harp, 82, formerly of Pikeville, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, February 14, 2021 in Douglasville, Georgia with family by her side.

Mary was born in Houston Texas. She worked at Ferro Manufacturing and was one of the first of three to be hired. Later, the company changed ownership to Johnson’s Control, Excel, and Dura where she worked until she retired. She was a quality control inspector. Preceding Mary in death was her husband, Jesse Earl Harp; parents, Oris Melton and Mabel Elizabeth White Rose; brothers, Kenneth Hurbert and Oris Melton “Jack” Rose; sister, Betty Rose Coolidge; grandson, Lucas DeBord.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Deborah (Ray) Payne, Becky Pankey, Jean (Jimmy) DeLay, Davis (Missy) Harp, Kathleen DeBord (Glen Brock), Virginia Dubois (Sam Robinson); 12 grandchildren, Thomas Payne, Amanda Underwood, Angela Overton, Sarah DeBord, Donnie, Garrett, and Anita DeBord, Trevor Harp, Heather Pugh, Maria Watson, Izabella and Ivory Robinson; 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Janette (Clawson) Hosford; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
