Colleen Kay Smith, 56, passed from this life Monday December 7, 2020 at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville from an extended illness.
Kay was born November 6, 1964 in Pikeville, Tennessee to the late Nathaniel Angel and the late Joyce Lewis. Kay worked for 19 years as a bookkeeper/teller at Citizens/Citizens Tri-County Bank in Spencer. She was a loving wife and mother to Layton and Morgan. She was a member of East Sparta Church of God where she sang in the choir.
Kay is survived by her loving family, husband Layton Smith and son Morgan Blayde Smith, both of Spencer; brothers Michael (Lisa) Angel of Fremont, Iowa, and Kenneth (Twila) Angel of Pryor, Oklahoma; sister Tricia (Mike) McCombs of Arvada, Colorado; sisters/cousins Lisa Clifton, Teresa Walker and Rebecca Wigley; special friend Angel Whited. Many nieces, nephews and extended family also survives.
Special thanks to the employees of Citizens Tri-County Bank, Meal Train providers, Vanderbilt Hospital, and her church family for all the love and care given to Kay.
Funeral services were held Saturday, December 12, at noon with Bro. Charles Dodson officiating. Burial followed in the Smith Family Cemetery in Bledsoe County.
Pallbearers were Caleb and Trevor Angel, Tom Angel, Anthony, Ryan and Paul Goforth, Clayton Smith, Silas, Steven, and Steve Standefer.
