Marshel Greer Fields

Marshel Greer Fields, 83, of Pikeville, Tennessee died December 5, 2020 with family by his side.

He worked at Taft Youth Center as a Correctional Officer for 20 years and also worked in maintenance at Fall Creek Falls State Park for 14 years.

Marshel liked squirrel hunting, and loved anything pertaining to guns, including repairing them. Earlier in his life, he also repaired watches. He was a member of the Red Hill Church of Christ.

Preceding Marshel in death were his parents, Earnie Edward and Della Knight Fields; son, Scotty Lynn Fields; sister, Cindy Mae Swafford; brothers, Georgie and Marlin Fields.

Left behind to cherish his memory is his wife of 58 years, Phyllis Marsh Fields; son, Bruce (Lucille) Fields; grandchildren, Jessica (Richard) Obitts, Wesley (Casey) Walker; great-grandchildren, Dakota Wooden, Mason Walker, Jake and Cain Obitts, Ever and Tripp Walker; great-great- grandchildren, Scarlett Wooden and Killian Walker; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

A celebration of life was held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 7, at the funeral home with Brother Steve Brown officiating. Burial was in Worthington Cemetery.
