Sam Thomas Gholston
Sam Thomas Gholston, 69, of Pikeville, Tennessee died Saturday, July 18, 2020 at his home surrounded by family.
Sam was a member and elder at West End Church of God. He worked at La-Z-Boy for 27 years, went to Bledsoe County High School, enjoyed his grandkids, gardening, and woodworking.
Preceding Sam in death were his parents, Buford and Mary Ruth Newby Gholston; sister, Ouida Kelley.
Sam will be dearly missed by his wife of 51 years, Beverly Ann Hendrick Gholston; sons, Blake (Teri) Gholston, Joel (Melissa) Gholston; sister, Judy (Sonny) Henson; grandchildren; Amanda Gholston and J. T. Gholston; two children that he thought of as grandchildren, Makade and Macye Lawson; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
A celebration of life was held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, at West End Church of God with Bro. Danny Lee officiating. Burial was in Humble Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Humble Cemetery or West End Church of God in Sam’s honor.
A special thank you to Amedysis Home Health and Amedysis Hospice for all the care given to Sam during his illness.
