Grant applied for to clean up portion of Sequatchie River
Bledsoe County has requested $50,000 in Volkswagen/Conservation Fund grant monies to remove downed trees, refuse, and related debris in the Sequatchie River in hopes of restoring it to allow public access for outdoor recreation and the proposed Sequatchie River Blueway.
Letters of support from 23 people were included with the application, submitted on February 14, ranging from the City and County mayors to other public officials and concerned citizens.
