County Attorney believes proposed gun sanctuary resolution is unconstitutional
A gun sanctuary resolution proposed by County Commissioner Matt Colvard at the January County Commission meeting could leave the county liable in the case of possible mass shootings or other gun-related injuries or deaths, according to a letter sent to Colvard by County Attorney Howard Upchurch.
The letter states the resolution proposed is unconstitutional as it is written, according to Upchurch, and beyond the scope of the County Commission.
