$60k grant awarded for public WiFi downtown

Visitors to downtown Pikeville could soon be able to get online for free after the University of Tennessee Extension recently received $60,000 in grant funding from the Appalachian Regional Commission.

The grant specifically will go to provide “much-needed free wireless internet” in downtown Pikeville to “relieve and enhance” opportunities to residents, visitors and local businesses.
