Audit: Nursing Home “improperly billed Medicaid”

An audit released by the Tennessee Comptroller’s Office claims the Bledsoe County Nursing Home improperly billed medicare for amounts totaling nearly $60,000.

The audit report, released on Wednesday, October 23, states the nursing home “improperly billed Medicaid $51,964 for 332 days while operating below 85 percent capacity” and “inappropriately” charged patients for services covered under Medicaid. 

The patient charges include $5,881 for basic haircuts, shampoos and beard trims to 76 residents between the period of July 1, 2014 to April 8, 2019.
