Pauline G. Hood

Pauline G. Hood, 95, of Pikeville, Tennessee died Friday, August 16, 2019 with family by her side.

Pauline was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Pauline worked as a cafeteria worker in a nursing home in Detroit for several years before moving back to Pikeville after the death of her husband. Her hobbies included dancing, cooking, playing bingo along with lots of other games, and solving hidden word puzzles.

Preceding Pauline in death was her husband, Edward Hood; parents, Thomas Maxwell and Johnnie Phelps Lowery; sisters, Louise Bridgeman, Clara Brown, Catherine Bennett, Mamie Lou Maxwell, and Maggie Maxwell.

Survivors include her special  nieces, Dorothy Nix, Martha Clark, other nieces, Diane Worthington, Mary Miller, and Kathy Washington; special great niece Alexandra Clark and children Elijah and Nakayla; special nephew, James Brown; other nephews, Donnie and Ronnie Maxwell, Clifford Bridgeman, and Junior Byrum; special friend, Treva Scarbrough; host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A Celebration of Life was held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 20, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Charles Billingsley officiating. Burial will be in Henson Cemetery.
