Sara Lane Brown
Sara Lane Brown, 73, passed away on July 27, 2019 at her home in Chattanooga.
She was born in Montuzuma, Georgia and formerly of Dayton and Pikeville. She was a 1964 graduate of Rhea County High.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Grace and Clyde Lane; her grandparents, Billie and Jane Worthington, and Edgar and Clara Lane; and a brother, Buster Lane.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Willis Brown. Sara was the oldest of nine children. She is survived by sisters Peggy (Claude P.) Smith and Georgia (Danny) Ables; brothers, Rocky (Shirley), Phillip, Larry, Gary and Troy (Lisa) Lane. She has two step-sons, Jeff and Tracy Brown; and lots of special relatives.
She loved reading The Bledsonian-Banner and Stephen King books. She loved to cook and everyone loved her potato salad, green beans, and especially her coconut cake. She loved to paint scenery and make flower arrangements. She loved her angel collection and her rose bushes.
Sara loved the Brown family reunion and passed away the same day. She also loved snow and rain, and it came a flood the day of her funeral.
Sara was a very special person and sent Christmas and birthday cards to all her friends and relatives.
Funeral services were held July 31 at Williamson and Sons in Soddy Daisy with Jimmy Jewell, a life-long family friend, officiating. Burial was in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
