Ralph Simmons
Ralph A. Simmons, 90, of Waynesville, Ohio passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at Kettering Hospital.
Ralph retired from Frigidaire in 1976 after 30 years of service. He also owned and managed several rental properties throughout the Miami Valley and in Tennessee. He was a long-time member and deacon of the First Baptist Church in Waynesville. His church and his faith were always very important to him throughout his life.
Hard working and business minded, Ralph enjoyed being busy. He had a larger than life personality and was a great story teller. He also enjoyed watching his garden grow, country music, dancing, and family trips back to his hometown in Tennessee. Among the many things, he will be remembered for the enduring love he had for his wife.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred, in 2009; a daughter Brenda Mills; his parents Leonard and Beatrice Simmons; two brothers Harold and Dean Simmons; and two sisters Jean Cottrell and Clara Simmons. He is survived by two sons Lanney (Joy) Simmons and Richard Simmons; daughter Debbie (Randy) Church; six grandchildren Angela Simmons, Renee (Chip) Wieczorek, Andrew (McKenzie) Simmons, Alex Simmons, Chrystal (Brian) Robinson, and Brad Pursley; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
The family received friends Friday, August 9 at the First Baptist Church in Waynesville. Funeral services were held Saturday, August 10 at the First Baptist Church in Waynesville with Roger Dale McCloud officiating the services. Two days later in Pikeville, the family received friends on Mon. August 12, followed by an additional funeral service at noon at Pikeville Funeral Home. Burial was in Frazier Cemetery in Pikeville.
