Sonny Yeargen

Dion “Sonny” William Yeargan, 79, of Pikeville, Tennessee passed away July 4, 2019 at Hospice of Chattanooga Care Center.

Sonny, a native of Michigan, was a longtime resident of Pikeville and of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of the US Army and he worked 35 years in construction. He enjoyed hayrides and outings and he loved Tennessee football and his grandchildren. He loved his family and always took care of them.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Ruby Farmer Yeargan; and brother, Floyd Yeargan.

He is survived by his wife, Oma Yeargan of Pikeville; children, Jeff (Tracy) Yeargan of Dayton, Greg (Jenn) Yeargan of Pikeville, Mark (Angie) Yeargan of Beaufont, South Carolina, Chris (Mandy) Yeargan of Pikeville; God-daughter, Heather Jewell of Dayton; 10 grandchildren, Aaron Yeargan, Brittney Yeargan, Lexie Yeargan Waldron, Amber Standifer, Brad Tallent, Haley Rymer, Julie Yeargan, Shelby Beavers, Josh Beavers, Madison Beavers; 10 great grandchildren, two nieces and two nephews.

A service was held Sunday, July 7, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home with Rev Gary Brown officiating. Interment followed at Summer City Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home of Dayton.
