Walter W. Cooley, 78, of Crossville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, June 22, 2019.
He was a retiree of the United States Army having served 31 years as a Master Sergeant with three tours of duty in the Vietnam War.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Minnie Allen Cooley; father, Eschol Cooley; two brothers, Willie “Bud” Cooley and Jack Cooley; and three sisters, Geneva Hale, Pauline Johnson and Ruth Seals.
He is survived by his wife, Ulker “Heather” Cooley; daughters, Claudia Cooley (Vinnie Forte) of Carneys Point, New Jersey and Sema Castagna (Jack Weatherlow) of Crossville; son, Deniz Tezcan of Wilmington, Delaware; many loving family members and friends; and, of course, his four legged companion, Jodie.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 26 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Dennis Smith officiating. Burial was in Howard-Walker Cemetery with military honors.
