Christopher Charles Evans, 61, of Dayton, Tennessee, died Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at his home.
He was a 1975 graduate of Cohn High School in Nashville, where he was a standout member of the football and track teams. He completed his Eagle Scout in 1971. He attended Brookmeade Church of Christ in Nashville. From 1978-1993, he was a journey lineman for TVA. He worked through IBEW Local 429 in Nashville and Local 175 in Chattanooga.
In 1994, he went to work for Carder & Evans Trucking in Dayton, where he was a valued employee until 2007. He ended his working career with IMI in Dayton, where he was plant manager until he became disabled in 2013.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert (Gene) Eugene Evans of Pikeville, and Mildred Yvonne Rollins Evans of Carthage; grandparents, Lester and Julia Griffith of Pikeville; Robert Evans of Dayton; John Jay and Leona White Rollins of Carthage; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is survived by one brother, Chase Rollins (Sherrie) Evans of Nashville; and one sister, Courtney Lee (Glenn) Carder of Dayton; two nephews, Cody Presley (Audrey) Evans of White House and Hunter Thomas Evans of Nashville; two nieces, Carley Yvonne Carder and Camryn Lee Carder of Dayton; married to, Regina Bunch Evans of Dayton, who cared for him until his death; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Chris will be sadly missed by all who loved and knew him.
The family will hold a private graveside service at a ‘later date.
