Winfred Leo Cox, 70, of Crossville, Tennessee, formerly of Pikeville, died Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at his home.
He attended Wheeler Hill Church of Christ in his youth. He was the Dean of Finance at Vanderbilt University for 30-plus years. He was a graduate of Bledsoe County High School and Vanderbilt University.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Buel and Anna Cox; brother, Waymon Cox; and aunt, Ruth Webb.
He is survived by his wife, May Cox; two daughters, Ashley Smallwood of Murfreesboro, and Emily Wanless of Florida; son, Michael Cox of Crossville; granddaughter, Isabella Smallwood; two sisters, Edna Grooms of North Carolina and Ellen Dombrowski of Chattanooga; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 2, at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Minister Dale Barger and Scott Wooden officiating. Burial was in Wheeler Hill Cemetery.
