Evelyn Louise Swafford

Evelyn Louise Swafford, 66, of Rhea County, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on June 1, 2018.

She was of the Baptist faith. Evelyn never left home until she read one chapter in her Bible.

She was born June 21, 1951 in Battle Creek, Michigan, and graduated from Rhea County High School in 1979. Evelyn retired from La-Z-Boy after 37 years. She enjoyed working in her flowers, spending time with her brother and sisters, traveling, and antiquing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlos C. Swafford and Nonive Felts Swafford; sisters Shirley Wendland, Reva (Mack) Swafford and Diane Cranfill.

Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Velma (Riley) Frady and brother, Micheal K. Swafford, both of Pikeville; best friend Sue Smith, Sale Creek; nieces and nephews, Manfred, Tonya, Kim, Tina, Johnny, Jimmy, Jason, Elton, Eric, Chasity, Jeremiah, and Katie. She had a great love for her great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Monday, June 4, at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jimmy Jewel officiating. Burial was in Summer City Cemetery.
