Margaret Ruth Johnson

Margaret Ruth Johnson, 87, of Pikeville, Tennessee passed away on Monday, March 5, 2018.

She retired from the Bledsoe County School System where she was a cook for over 30 years. She loved working there and was adopted by students and teachers who lovingly called her Granny Margaret.

She was an active member of the Brockdell Church of God for over 50 years. She served as Sunday School Secretary for many of those years. She enjoyed baking and cooking for family and others in the community.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Isaac and Bertha Dodson; sisters, Geneva Guy and Genell Steakley; brothers, James, Bobby and Benny Dodson; and granddaughter, Sherri Howser Savage.

She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Levi Johnson; children, Phyllis (Lee) Lies, Treva (Ronnie) Holloway, Tim (Cliffelene) Johnson, Robin (Steve) Taylor and legal guardian of great-grandchildren, Kali and Tayah Savage; grandchildren, Chris Howser, Chad (Kindall) Johnson, Sasha (Daniel) Johnson, Jeremy (Tammy) Holloway, Adam (Kim) Johnson, Destiney (Wesley) Bouget, Levi (Paige) Taylor, Angie (Jeff) Dennison, Sonia Mainord; several great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 8, at 1:00 p.m. at Brockdell Church of God with Rev. David Rogers and Rev. Donnie Coxofficiating.  Burial will be in Cagle Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday from noon-8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 a.m.-noon.
