Zora M. Brake, nee Turner, 88, of Collinsville, Illinois, born on December 5, 1929 in Pikeville, Tennessee, passed away Friday, February 16, 2018 at Elmwood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Maryville, Illinois.
Zora was the owner of Zora’s Natural Health Food Store in Collinsville. She was a member of the American Legion Post 365 Ladies Auxiliary in Collinsville, and a member of Bluffview Baptist Church in Collinsville. She was an avid bingo player.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy L. Brake, whom she married on March 17, 1952 in Collinsville, and died on May 21, 1983; a grandson, Wade Brake; her parents, Dexter and Maybelle, nee Songer, Turner; brothers and sisters, Ramsey Songer, Ernest Turner, Leonard Turner, Leona Turner and Wilma Dameron.
Surviving are her sons and a daughter, Michael (Patricia) Brake of Wood River, Illinois, Greg (Phyllis) Brake of Collinsville, Illinois and Melody (Robert) Allen of Wyoming, Michigan; grandchildren, Jarrod Allen, Christian Allen and Dennis Konopka; four great-grandchildren; a brother and sisters, Rozella Clendenon of Spencer, Freddie Turner of Pikeville, and Wanda Smith of Dunlap,; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was held at noon, Tuesday, February 20, at the funeral home with Rev. Roger Wright officiating. Interment will be in Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery, Collinsville.
