Pauline Edmons

Pauline Edmons, of Pikeville, Tennessee died January 8, 2018, at her home. She was 93.

She was preceded in death by her parents, J. Brown and Fannie Crawford; her husband, Leonard Edmonds; siblings, Ollie Wade, Johnny Brown, Landon Brown, Robert Brown, I.E. Brown, Willard Brown, Martha Lou DeBord and Barbara Jean Detweiler.

She is survived by her sister, Helen Simmons of Pikeville; brother-in-law, Irvin Detweiler of Pikeville; nieces, Linda (Kenney) Rogers of Pikeville, Emily (Jimmy) Knowles of Pikeville; Jane Medlin of Crossville; nephews, Jeff (Carol) Detweiler of Indiana and Jay Detweiler of Colorado.

She was a member of Winesap Freewill Baptist. She was a very independent woman who worked hard. She loved to garden and was as active as she could be in her later years. The woman didn’t sit still.

In 2013-2015, she cared for her sister Barbara Jean, before she passed.

She is a dear lady we will greatly miss.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 11, at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Darwin Oakes officiating. Burial will be in Thomas Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Buford Smith, Jody Smith, Patrick Smith, Jimmy Knowles, Isaiah Knowles and Jacob Knowles. The obituary will be read by Wade Smith and Leslie and Wade Smith will be singing.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 11:30 a.m. -1:00 p.m.

Special thanks to her niece, Emily Knowles, for caring for her during the past few months and her great-niece, Bethany Rogers, for 24/7 care the last two weeks of her life. Special thanks also to Lisa and Lisa, two kind hospice nurses.
