Martha Rachael Hodges

Martha Rachael Hodges, 74, of Pikeville, Tennessee died Wednesday, January 3, 2018.

Marty, as she was well known, was a member of First Southern Baptist Church, enjoyed singing, gardening, stain glass making, traveling and camping. She worked 21 years as supervisor of records at the Citrus County Sheriff’s Department in Florida.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Bartoe and Edith Grace Miller Heath; brother, Thomas James Heath.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Jackson Edward Hodges, Sr.; son, Jackson Edward (Tina) Hodges, Jr., Pikeville; daughter, Cynthia Marie (William) Thies, Texas; brother, Harry Eugene (JoAnn) Heath, Georgia; sister, Edith (David) Stroud, Florida; four grandchildren, Keith Aaron (Allie) Thies, Rachael Marie (Andrew) Urbanic, Taylor Anne Hodges, Hannah Elizabeth Hodges; one great-granddaughter, Alice Rose Thies; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

A memorial service was held January 5 at 11:00 a.m. in the Pikeville Funeral Home Chapel with pastors Darrell Evans and Donnie Lawson officiating.
