Claude Phillip Smith, Sr.

Claude P. Smith Sr., 92 of Pikeville, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 5, 2016.

He was a member of the Pikeville Church of God.

He was preceded in death by his infant son, Eddie Clyde Smith; infant grand-daughter, Donna Gail Smith; brothers, Fred, J. L., Hollis, James C., and Clyde Smith; sisters, Maybell Richardson, Gennive Kilgore; parents John and Gertie Smith.

Left behind to cherish Claude’s memory are his loving wife of 70 years, Ruth Smith; son Claude Phillip (Peggy) Smith, Jr. of Pikeville; daughters, Brenda (Lonnie) Brandt of Westersille, Nebraska and Mary Frances Christian of Pikeville; grandchildren, Billy Wayne (Nicole) Smith of Crossville, Stacey (Dave) Mattox of Broken Bow, Nebraska, Shane (Susan) Brandt of Crescent, Iowa., Michael (Tina) McCloud, Scottie (Charity) McCloud, both of Pikeville, Shawn (Darby) Brandt of Brady, Nebraska, and Tracie (Jason) Yother of Pikeville; 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Claude’s life was held at noon Tuesday, November 8 in the funeral home chapel. Officiating was by Bishop James Dunn, Bro. Leroy Forgey, and Bro. Dennis Smith. Burial was in Humble Cemetery.
