Howard Mathes

Howard Mathes, 80, of Pikeville, went home to be with the Lord, August 10, 2016.

Howard was a big Georgia Bulldogs fan. He was of the Church of God faith.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Mathes; parents, Horace and Ruby Walls Mathes; brother, Hollis Mathes.

Left to cherish Howard’s memories are his daughters, Jane Brookshire, Patti (Pete) Duncan, and Jan Wilson; sons, David (Trish) Mathes, Dale Mathes, and Chuck (Marie) Rogers; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Judy (Joe) Osborne, Emma Butts, and Sharon Guffy; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; special friends, Paula and Carl Stewart and Dale and Gail Blankenship.

A Celebration of Howard’s life was held Saturday, August 13, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Danny Lee and Carl Stewart officiating. Burial was in the Blankenship Cemetery.
