Maxine Kerley Smith

Maxine Kerley Smith, 68, of Pikeville, went to be with the Lord May 6, 2016.

She was of the Church of God Faith. Maxine loved flower gardening, cooking, cats, and especially her family.

Preceding her in death were parents, Emmitt and Martha Kerley Thurman; brothers, Manuel, Bobby, Wayne, and Nathaniel Thurman; sister, Faye Thurman; and grandson, Gavin Wayne Kerley.

Left to cherish Maxine’s memories are her son, Wayne (Dawn) Kerley; brothers, Russell Thurman, Emeret (Belinda) Thurman, and Ralph (Irene) Thurman; sisters, Dolly Cochran and Florence King; grandchildren Walt (Danielle) Kerley, Taylor Henderson, Autumn Kerley, Shelby Thurman, Nick Thurman, Camren Thurman; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Celebration of her life was held May 10 in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Hubert Thurman officiating. Burial was in the Bobby Thurman Cemetery.
