Wendell Agee

Wendell William Agee, 86, Christian, missionary, retired Air Force veteran of 20 years and former business owner of 30 years, went to be with his Lord on October 26, 2015. He will be welcomed with open arms by his parents, John and Ada Agee; his daughter, Sharon Agee; his son, Stephen Agee; and his brothers, Jack, Wiley and Lyn Agee.

Warm and witty, Wendell was beloved by many.

Survivors included his wife of 61 years, June Evans Agee; daughter, Wendy (Wayne) Sanders; daughter Leslie (Mack) Rye; daughter, Christine Agee; son William Agee (Nancy); five grandchildren, Ashley, Austin, Bruce, Cole and Paige; his sister, Ozelle Taylor; and several nieces and nephews; Church of Christ members from the Karns and Clinton churches, as well as those with whom he came into contact in the prison ministry work and on his many mission trips to Cuba, Jamaica, Barbados, Tobago, St. Croix and Honduras, will sorely miss this humble, generous, tireless soldier of the Lord’s kingdom.

Wendell’s one desire was that all come to know his Christ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Southeast Institute of Biblical Studies, 6612 Beaver Ridge Road, Knoxville, TN 37931.

The funeral service was held at the Karns Church of Christ on October 30. Burial followed on October 31 at Iron Hill Cemetery in Pikeville.
